Elevate Your Smoke

We’d like our patients to join us in extending the warmest of welcomes to our new Patient Care Specialist, Abby! Abby is passionate about all things cannabis and health – whether you’re looking for pain relief, sleep assistance, or a better overall mood, Abby has the right product for you!
This month in Abby’s Corner, Abby recommends supplementing and elevating your smoke with herbs.
Holistic herbs have many compounds that can tremendously benefit your everyday life. With some plants – such as lavender and rosemary – matching cannabis terpenes, and milk thistle matching most of the compounds in cannabis, the possibilities are endless!
Green Truck suggests picking up your dried herbs from a trusted retailer, such as apothecary, or your nearest health food store.
Herbs can be incorporated into several methods of cannabis consumption. If you prefer smoking out of a glass piece, combine your herb of choice with the flower you intend to smoke. The same goes for a joint, blunt, or otherwise; mixing 25% herbs with 75% cannabis is the perfect ratio, and will also help provide a slower burn time.

Here are a few herbs Abby commonly integrates into her cannabis flower:

Ashwagandha – alleviates stress, anxiety, and depression.
*Abby’s Tip: Feel-good strain Rodman has similar mood-boosting effects as ashwagandha. Combined, they can be a powerhouse combatant of mental health issues.

Chamomile – aids in digestion and relaxation.
*Abby’s Tip: Diamond Runtz is an excellent strain for nighttime use, and when combined with a sedating herb such as chamomile, may be useful in combatting insomnia and sleep troubles.

Echinacea – alleviates pain symptoms, reduces inflammation, and supports the endocannabinoid system.
*Abby’s Tip: An analgesic strain, such as Divine Storm, has been seen to have potentially pain-relieving properties. Try smoking it with an herb such as echinacea for best results!

Lavender – supports relaxation, high in linalool.
*Abby’s Tip: Combine dried lavender with a high-Indica strain, such as Cookies N Kush, for optimal relaxation and sleep support.

Milk Thistle – helps liver disease, diabetes, and indigestion, and supports the endocannabinoid system.
*Abby’s Tip: A heavy, appetite-inducing strain, such as Majestic Brunch, pairs well with the stomach-centric properties of Milk Thistle.

Mint – clears out and supports the lungs.
*Abby’s Tip: The piney, peppery flavors of Passion Snake, combined with the fresh flavor of dried mint, can help relax your body from the inside out.

Mullein – supports lung functions.
*Abby’s Tip: Give dried mullein a try with one of our house strains, Ursula. The berry-heavy terps of the cannabis combined with the earthy flavors of mullein create a tasty, unforgettable blend with healthful properties.

Rosemary – high in Beta-Caryophyllene, helps inflammation, and reduces stress.
*Abby’s Tip: Pair rosemary with a happy strain, such as Green Truck’s MAC, for better mood and an overall relaxed mindset.

Sage – relaxation, helps digestion, stimulates appetite.
*Abby’s Tip: The flavor profile and benefits of dried sage compliment house strain Oreoz nicely. Give them a try together!
If you are mixing CBD flower with herbs instead, try it with Passion Fruit! It provides lots of nutrients, antioxidants, fiber, boosts the immune system, and helps alleviate anxiety.
