October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and at Green Truck, it’s more than a pink ribbon on the wall—it’s personal.
Each year, we dedicate October to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer causes. This year, we’re proud to support #LightUpMBC, a powerful campaign of METAvivor that shines a light—literally—on stage 4 metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Proceeds from our in-store campaign will go directly to this life-saving cause.
Why #LightUpMBC?
#LightUpMBC was created to honor Jessica Moore, a beloved nurse, advocate, and member of our community who passed away from metastatic breast cancer in her 30s. Her legacy lives on through this campaign, which works to increase awareness and address the severe lack of funding for MBC research.
Unlike early-stage breast cancer, MBC is not curable—and it’s the only stage of breast cancer that is fatal. Despite this, MBC receives only a small fraction of breast cancer research funding. That’s why we’re stepping in to help.
How We’re Supporting the Cause
All October long, Green Truck customers can round up at the register or add a donation in-store at any of our dispensary locations in Kittery, Sanford, and North Berwick. Every dollar goes to METAvivor’s LightUpMBC campaign, funding critical research for metastatic breast cancer.
As a thank you, we’ll give you a free #LightUpMBC awareness sticker with every donation. Stick it on your water bottle, laptop, or bumper—wherever you want to help spread the message.
It’s a small action that adds up—especially when we do it together.

Want to see the mission in action? This year’s #LightUpMBC Live event is taking place in Portsmouth, NH, where landmarks will be illuminated in MBC awareness colors—green, pink, and teal—as a powerful tribute to lives lost and a call for change.
